QMI ENGINE TREATMENT

QMI Motor Treatment has a special kind of PTFE formula.
It is Heavy Weighted and has extreme small particles (0,08 - 0,5 micron)
Because of this the QMI PTFE will not choke the oil channels, not even after multiple times of use.
It does not mix with the oil, but uses the oil to get trough the engine and do it's protective work.
QMI PTFE will last for at least 2000 hours or 80.000 kilometers. After that, just add it again to the oil.

(Other ptfe products however are Light Weighted and have a particle size between 200 and 400 micron. These Light Weight products will choke the oil channels after multiple times of use.)


Treatment of ships engines with PTFE (polytetrafluorethyleen) is a plastic which has very unique properties.
These properties are more and more applied at a sophisticated lubrication.
QMI Scandinavia has come to amazing positive results using several users concerning a reduced wear and environment pollution.
This substance has the lowest friction coefficient of all well-known substances (0.02 - 0.15) and will settle as a ongoing film concerning all friction surfaces.
QMI PTFE forms a protective plastic membrane, as a result of which the oil moves more rapidly through the system.
Because of this it improves cooling and lubrication (the surface friction between oil and QMI PTFE is much lower than the surface friction between metal and oil).
A thin layer QMI PTFE is moreover a very good coolant, so that the heat which on a clean surface arises is more rapidly absorbed by surrounding metal.
On the spots which are meant with lubrication on the border area (boundary lubrication), particularly the camshaft, the tappets, the upper parts of the cylinder walls, the upper parts of the piston/piston feathers, lower of the turbocompressors and the hydraulic pumps, the QMI PTFE-layer will protect the surface against cuts, scratches and wear.
Ultrasounds frequently form also a problem that by another unique property of QMI PTFE can be solved.
How higher press between two areas with PTFE, how smoother the surface. Ultrasounds come frequently if the friction surface contains irregularities, and since irregularities result in a higher capacitance, this PTFE will produce a smoother surface. By this smoother surface less energy has been required overcome these irregularities, as a result of which the functioning becomes more easy and smoother.

QMI PTFE saves lives and equipment in the marine industry. The use of QMI PTFE is absolutely safe for enviroment and machine. Garuanteed!

Testcase with Daf 475 6 cyl. diesel engine. Construction year 1967placed  in 100 years old 17 meters long flatbottom yacht.
24-06-2009 problem: Engine does not come to maximum rpm and runs irregularly. Engine smokes rather long and much, at complete working temperature smoke becomes lesser.
To assess the problem a diesel expert is called in which observed that the sprays are bad en need replacement, but at replacement also the fuel pump probable will break down by the high age and higher pressure. Revision is recommended or placing a new engine.
Solution: The importer presented QMI PTFE Motor Treatment and told us to give this a chance. No harm possible! After having everything adjusted to the best, the MT was added to the oil and went directly for a test sail. After 10 minutes the engine came to the maximum rpm and ran " smooth". After 30 minutes the engine warmed up well. The engine was set to neutral and put on stationary rpm. It was allready more quietly in the ship and there was no more smoke. From standstill  we have given full speed ahead whereby even the bow came up more than usual! Clearly more thrust on the propeller is detected and the engine reacts fast to the throttle. Nice circumstance is that the engine now also after approximately 20 hours already is 10% more economical on fuel usage than before.
Conclusion: QMI PTFE does more than it promised and saved us an expensive revision. We will replace propeller shaft grease at the next rampart for QMI 220 water resistent grease, this will give even more efficienty.

Additional news: 11-05-2010. The engine had run for more than 240 hours, the effects are even bigger than before. The engine runs very nice, no smoke at all, fuel consumption is now on average 22% less.
