Dordrecht the Netherlands, (22-03-2009) stolen water scooter and trailer found in a spectacular manner.
The Dutch police force found in a spectacular manner a stolen water scooter. It was stolen from a boat garage. The water scooter was found on a parking place at the horse riding school of Wieldrecht in Dordrecht.
The water scooter stood in a closed Mercedes Van which had been parked in the area near the school. Thanks to the super sensitive GPS receiver that was nevertheless able to pass on the coordinates from the system to the monitoring service. This was very particular, because GPS normally look up to the sky for finding satellites. The scooter stood in the back of the Van and could only look through a narrow space between the seats to the front of the Van.
The Van stood also with the front nose against a 2 meters high stone build barn, as a result of which the system could look through a window of approximately 5 x 20 cm. Because the bus stood bordering to a trailer park the police force came with four units to the scene. Thanks to the collaboration of the importer Sureboat of the particular track & trace system “Sonar Blueye” one could find the water scooter exactly on the meter. Because these systems contain also data-logs, Sureboat could read to the end the driven path and stipulates where the scooter has been. Sureboat passed on the coordinates of the nocturnal hiding place and retrieved also the trailer. The criminals have not yet been identified, but the chance is large that these will still be taken up by the still current research.
